For almost a century, Milanese jeweler Buccellatihas kept the art of the Italian Renaissance at the core of their design philosophy, but with the opening of their Madison Avenue flagship on March 12, the house’s designers have found themselves dipping into a new creative pool: Impressionism.

Entitled "Timeless Blue," a capsule of one-of-a-kind jewels has been created in response to masterpieces by French, American and Russian masters Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard, Winslow Homer, Mikhail Larionov and Odilon Redon.

The Albertina Museum in Vienna, Austria is hosting an exhibition of 19^th-century graphic works, on loan from Paris’ Musée d’Orsay.

The exhibition includes pastels by Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, and Odilon Redon; gouaches by Honoré Daumier and Gustave Moreau; watercolors by Paul Cézanne, along with works by other artists of the period. The exhibition encompasses a broad range of artistic movements and styles.

Christie’s is to auction a unique selection of rare works on paper from the Triton Collection Foundation, spanning over three centuries of art history and representing the most important avant-garde movements of the 19th and 20th Century, including works by Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro, Paul Cézanne, Fernand Léger, Francis Picabia, Gino Severini, Odilon Redon, André Derain and Salvador Dalí, many of the works on paper will be offered at auction for the first time. Forty nine of the works will be sold in the single owner evening sale Exceptional Works on Paper from the Triton Collection Foundation on March 25, 2015 in Paris during the Salon du Dessin. This will be followed by a further selection of works will be offered across auctions in Paris and London throughout 2015 and early 2016.

After acquiring a considerable number of important drawings, the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City has mounted an exhibition to showcase their recently added works. Spanning from the Renaissance through the 19^th century, the drawings were acquired through gifts, purchases, and bequests. Over 100 of these works will be featured in Old Masters, Newly Acquired.

The Morgan has greatly improved its Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Symbolist holdings by acquiring a number of works by such artists as Édouard Manet (1832-1883), Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), Édouard Vuillard (1868-1940), and Odilon Redon (1840-1916). The museum also acquired over forty Danish drawings including sheets by several Golden Age masters including C.W. Eckersberg (1783-1853) and Johan Lundbye (181-1848). The Morgan added to their British watercolor collection with works by John Martin (1789-1854) and Samuel Palmer (1805-1881). William M. Griswold, director of the museum, said, “The Morgan’s collection of drawings is among the finest in the world, and the institution has been very fortunate to have long-standing relationships with some of America’s most important collectors. This exhibition celebrates their connoisseurship and their commitment to the Morgan.”

Old Masters, New Acquired will be on view at the Morgan Library & Museum through August 11, 2013.
